Panchavalkala Kwath Yavakut

Description

Panchavalkala Kwath Yavakut is a polyherbal coarse powder made up of the bark of five trees viz. Vaṭa (Ficus bengalensis Linn), Udumbara (Ficus glomerata Roxb.), Ashvattha (Ficus religiosa Linn.), Parisha (Thespesia populenoides L.) and Plakṣa (Ficus lacor Buch-Ham.), having properties of Shodhana (cleaning) and Ropaṇa (healing) of wounds. All five drugs have the dominance of Kashaya (astringent) rasa which is useful in management of Shotha (inflammation) as well as Vrana (wound).

Panchavalkala Kwath can also be administered internally also in the patients of septicemia, ulcerative colitis, proteinuria and likewise diseases.

Panchavalkala Kwath is also used in vaginal douching in leucorrhoea and vaginal fungal infections.
