Dhatryarishta has been described for the first time in Shri Charaka Samhita, in the context of Panduroga Chikitsa. The same reference is available in Chakradatta, Bhaishajya Ratnavali, and Sahastrayogam too. The goodness of fresh Amla Juice can be experienced in SwamiAyurved Dhatryarishta. It is first of its kind of non-iron formulations used to treat Pandu. Dhatryarishta is a Rasagami (nourishing Rasadhatu thereby correcting the pathology in it) formulation. It corrects Rasadhatvagni and hence it should be administered in all those conditions where Rasadhtavgni correction & promotion is necessary such as Pandu (anaemia), Kamla (Jaundice), Hrudroga (Low EF like conditions), Vatarakta, Vishamjwara, Kasa, Shwasa, Hikka & Aruchi. It is also useful in chronic constipation. It is also used in the extreme dryness of skin due to any etiology. Being a non-iron formulation, It may also be used in the the anemias where administration of iron is contraindicated. The dryness of hairs & complexion also improves a lot with regular administration of  Dhatryarishta minimum up to 1 year.
