Description

Shatyadi Varga Kashayam is a classical medicine cited by Acharya Charak in Jwara Chikitsa 3/211. The ingredients of Shatyadi Varga Kashayam are Shati (Hedychium spicatum), Pushkaramoola (Inula racemosa), Vyagri (Solanum xanthocarpum), Duralabha (Fagonia cretica), Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Nagar/Shunthi (Zingiber officinale), Patha (Cissampelos pareira), Kiratatikta (Swertia chirayita), Katurohini (Picrorhiza kurroa).

It is highly useful in all types of Jwara. Acharya Charak has clearly mentioned its use in the sannipatik stage of Jwara. So it is useful in all types of current sannipatik jwara like Covid, Typhoid, Viral fever and so on, where the symptoms of Jwara manifest Sannipatika Stage. In such cases, Shatyadi Varga Kashayam should be administered frequently in the dose of 10 to 20 ml. It is also useful in Hrudgraha (Coronary spasm), Kasa, Shwasa, Parshwashool (Pleurisy). All these diseases expect frequent administration of Shatyadii Varga Kashayam, simply prescribing it twice a day does not yield optimum results
