Dhanyapanchak Kwath (Pravahi) is a polyherbal Ayurvedic formulation cited in Sharangadhar Samhita. It contains Dhanyaka (Corindrum Sativum), Shunthi (Zingiber officinale), Musta (Cyperus rotundus), Hriber (Pavonia odorata) & Bilva (Aegle marmelos). It is very effective for Aamshula (Pain in abdomen), Aamatisaar (diarrhea due to indigestion) & Aruchi (Tastelessness)

The unique feature of SwamiAyurved Dhanyapanchak Kwath is that it contains lime water processed Shunthi (not just dried ginger,) Balbilva i.e. dried pulp of unripen fruit of Bilvaphala & original Hriber i.e. Balak (Pavonia odorata) and not the substitute (Coleus amboinicus). Hence classical results can be seen after it administration. It immediately controls gripping pain in abdomen & controls the frothy diarrhea. It also arrests bleeding per rectum in ulcerative colitis & controls the frequency of diarrhea. So at present, it has been a drug of choice in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. It also has been found effective in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome along with parallel administration of Ayurvedic antipsychotics.
