Description

Punarnavashtaka Arka is a distiilate of Punarnavashtaka Kwatha. The ingredients are Punarnava, Haritaki, Nimba, Daruharidra, Katuki, Patol, Guduchi & Gomutra. Being distillate, it is highly potent and works in low doses. It has the same classical indications as of Punarnavashtaka Kwath. It is beneficial in the management of Pandu i.e anaemia. When the pathology of Pandu is associated with Mutravaha Srotas (such as in Chronic kidney disease), Punarnavashtaka Arka works very well. Same is with Kasa i.e. severe coughing. This phenomenon is seen in patients with pleural effusion where the inability of the kidneys to remove excess fluid from the body is hampered due to CKD. Punarnavashtak Arka clears the excess fluid and alleviates the inflammation of lungs giving satisfactory relief in continuous coughing. Udara (Ascites) also has excess fluid accumulation which is removed by Punarnavashtka Arka thereby giving relief to the patient. So it is also indicated in Shwasa, Shoola and Sarvanga shotha .

It is also useful in managing the elevated blood pressure. It can be given regularly for some months to correct the underlying pathology. The hypothyroidism patient feels and experience general body edema all along the time. This is well corrected by Punarnavashtak arka. It also regularizes TSH level. It also helps to normalizes the prostatomegaly.

Dose: 5 to 20 ml depending on the severity of the disease.
